7 Arrows – Light Arrow of Self-Awareness

idea-2009484_1280Remember LIFE IS A CHOICE; when something happens, WE CHOOSE OUR RESPONSE. This choice becomes our action and colors our perception of what continues to happen.  Do we choose the dark (as defined by another and caught off balance within our patterns of pain) or do we choose the light (centered within our own circle and aligned with all forms of all things)?

The 7 Light Arrows are ours for the choosing…  Choosing the Light Arrows breaks the Dark Arrows. Persist in this practice and one day you will discover that the Universe has placed the Rainbow Arrows in your quiver in the place of the Dark Arrows.

The 1st Light Arrow is Self-Awareness, which provides a concept of self, not defined by something external to us.  We are aware of our needs, our resources, what we know and what we don’t know, and when to ask for help. When we pick up this Light Arrow, we break the dark arrow of attachments, which had us attempting to meet needs that were not real by looking outside ourselves.

Can you identify the times that you have become self-aware and had a false need disappear?

Warrior Wednesday – Space and Distance

boxers_1280

In each direction of the Warrior Attributes wheel, there are two attributes.  The first attribute carries the feminine energy and the second carries the masculine energy.  In each pair, you must have the feminine aspect mastered before you can step into and embody the masculine aspect.

The Warrior’s Attributes in the Southwest are space and distance. This refers to the gap between yourself and life’s experiences. When the action is happening and the cameras are rolling, space refers to how well you can stay open to the action and remain centered within yourself.

Distance refers to how close you will allow others (and life’s experience) inside your energy field. You will notice that a boxer constantly leads with short jabs, trying to gauge the space between himself and his opponent. When he determines the amount of space, he will know the distance he needs to cover in order to deliver his knock-down punch. When confronted with a closed symbol, do you need to create more space or close the gap in order to deal with it?

Watch Your Thoughts…

They become your words.

Watch your words;
They become actions.

They become habits.

Watch your habits;
They become character.

Watch your character;
It becomes your destiny.  ~ Lao Tzu

Battling the Enemy Within

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”  ~ Sun Tzu, The Art of War

Do you know yourself and the enemies within that create your “hundred battles”?

Know Thyself…

“Make it thy business to know thyself, which is the most difficult lesson in the world.  Yet from this lesson, thou will learn to avoid the frog’s foolish ambition of swelling to rival the bigness of the ox.”  ~ Miguel de Cervantes
