Twenty Count Tuesday – Souls of all Sacred Humans

hawaiian-hula-dancers-377653_1280

At the fifteenth power, the Souls of all Humans, we begin to dance for joy. We begin to see through the eyes and ears of all our brother and sister humans. As we see through their eyes and hear with their ears, we realize that they are like mirrors to us. In fact, everything around us, every Power within this Orchestra, is a mirror.  Each reflects back to us our own Inner Light. This reflection is carried on the Sacred Winds as the Songs of our Soul and we can see this Great Mirror reflected back to us from the East of Center of the Circle of Life. It sings the Gathering Together Circle Song and chants the Sacred Rainbow Chant of the SunDance Way.  It sings to us, little sister, little brother, the Look within Yourself Song. See the Beauty of All that is. Open our eyes and look around you and see the many mirrors and the many powers. Look into and through the eyes of even one brother or sister and you can see the Whole Universe!

We know deep within the interdependence, interconnectedness, interreliability of all the worlds, especially the human world.

Animal Medicine Monday – Otter

otter-441962_1280

We are now in the month of the earth astrology totem of otter, with Aquarius being the complimentary sun sign.  Otter helps us to cleanse and purify our sacred waters, that is, all emotional states, blood, and lymphatic systems of humans.  They teach us how to play in our child shield (our inner little girl for women and inner little boy for men) and give with our heart.  The otter also protects men as they learn to deal with the energy of women’s moon cycles.

If you want to experience the joy of moving through frozen waters, even when frozen, check out the first few minutes of this PBS America show on the Otters of Yellowstone, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S_c_JOtZu4Q

Twenty Count Tuesday – Sacred Earth Mother

rose-793759_1280 We seem to be playing faster now and more smoothly. We can no longer separate the Instruments from ourselves. We can no longer separate the sounds from the music. It is a part of us and this now seems natural. Deep within our heart we realize that the Song and the Dance have always been there and we sing for joy as we turn towards the South again. We begin to see and hear a sweet and gentle voice singing the beautiful lyrics of the Heart of the Plants. We realize that their Spirit is singing to us the Song of Nature. This is the thirteenth Power, our Earth Mother.  Her Song is beautiful for it carries the Light and the Spirit of all the Plants straight into the fibers of our Being. Her Song travels up the light paths of the umbilical cord of life and straight into our hearts. Hers is the beautiful Song of the Blessed Beauty Way Chant.

Twenty Count Tuesday – Sacred Plants

Grandmother Earth’s first children are the Sacred Plants and the Sacred Waters. These sit in the South. The Plants are singing the Songs of Trust and Innocence, the Songs of the Giveaway.  The Waters are singing the Songs of Carrying the Myths, of the Joy of having Pleasure within our Emotions in everything we do.

Four Seasons

We all know the four seasons and how they affect our life-style: spring, summer, fall and winter. They too have a place on the wheel.

Spring, which sings to us about the rejuvenation of the water as it flows in the streams and reawakens life out of its winter dream, sits in the South.  Thus, we know that spring teaches us about fluidity. (Ask any allergy post nasal drip survivor about this!)Screen Shot 2016-09-03 at 10.19.29 AM

Summer sings to us about the fire and its heat, its full out expansion of life’s vibrancy and joy. Therefore, it sits in the East.

The fall sings with the wind that tosses us about to test our flexibility and willingness to surrender to change as the seeds ride on the wind to their new destination. Fall sits in the North.

And the winter sings with the earth as it calls us into itself, for a time of introspection and death. Even the movement of sap in the trees begins to slow down. Winter sits in the West.

Remember we said there are always a minimum of five places on a wheel. Solstices and Equinoxes sit in the Center. These are the power times for the seasons and act as a catalyst and communicator between the seasonal changes.

Four Elements ~ Fire

The Four Elements are the building blocks of all Creation on Grandmother Earth, and therefore, stabilize our world.

Screen Shot 2016-09-02 at 1.04.53 PMIn the East is the element of Fire.  Fire teaches us expansion. It could be a small candlelight, or a raging forest fire, or the campfire which warms you on a cold night. Did you know that fire is a chemical reaction that emits light and heat, similar to the sun?  Or that Earth is the only planet that has enough oxygen that allows fire to burn?

Our spiritual aspect is the inner reflection of the fire element.  When we are fully aligned with Spirit, we expand into the creative potential of all life.  Our passion, hope, and joy are fueled by the strength of our spiritual determination.

What are you passionate about?  Do you starve your inner fires with restricting belief systems (withholding oxygen rich air)?   Or do you fuel the hungers that bring you pleasure and knowledge?  Think about the many ways you have experienced fire and you will know the East energies.

Align with the Fire Element and expand into the unknown.

(If you are drawing this wheel, North is at the top of your circle, South is at the bottom, West is to the left, and East is to the right.)

Pay It Forward – A Nia Jam!

Razel gets her groove on!

Today the Rainbow Power Center was jamming with music, dancing, laughter, health, and abundance as 22 women gathered to dance in support of the recovery of those with spinal cord injuries.  The event raised hundreds of dollars for The Lone Star Paralysis Foundation and was sponsored by Arizona Nia Teachers (including Razel Wolf who is also a SMSD teacher) and AZNiaNow.  A portion of these funds will benefit Daniel Curtis, the son of a Nia Trainer, who sustained a spinal cord injury in May of 2011.

From the Nia website:  “Nia is the original body-mind fusion fitness program – blending inspiration from dance arts, martial arts and healing arts to create a fun, pleasurable, health-enhancing practice for people of all ages and levels of fitness and helping us reconnect to the Joy of Movement!”

Flexibility, agility, mobility, strength, and stability. Joy, laughter, and the power of individual expression. Aerobics, stretching, coordination, technique, beauty.  Nia includes it all, and teachers and classes can be found worldwide.

We were blessed to have such power and giveaway fill our space today, calling us all into the dance!
