Sexuality is the Soul…

horsehead-nebula_1280
SEXUALITY is the SOUL of the Twenty Count. The Powers of the Universe are twenty variations on the theme of the Universal Life Force Energy, the pulsating Chi that flows through all living matter. That pulse, that throbbing life, is sexuality. The essence of life, the interconnecting web or matrix is the soul of the universe.

We are not isolated entities disconnected from this planet we live on. Each of the powers of the Twenty Count is a manifestation of the spiritual essence, the Soul of the Universe.

The Twenty Count cannot really be taught. Yet describing the powers of the Twenty and dialoguing with them awakens within us the knowing of their existence within and without. The Twenty Count forms the basic framework or structure of the Sweet Medicine SunDance Teachings. It describes the interconnection and interrelationship of all forms of all things.

Song of the Cosmos

birds_1280Everything in the cosmos has a vibration, a frequency, a song or dance.  The Twenty Count is the skeleton of and the key to all knowledge. It is a blueprint to understand the sacred powers of the Universe.  Through our interaction with these Twenty Powers, we are able to experience how all forms of all things are interconnected, interreliable and interdependent with all forms of all other things. The Twenty Count opens the door to magick and mystery.

No matter how many times we study these Powers, each time again, we discover a new aspect of the Great Mystery.

Self-Exploration…

child_1280Each single wheel teaches us about an aspect of our world, much like a single ingredient in a recipe provides one flavor.  When we start overlaying wheels, the depth of these teachings are revealed in the interconnections we explore.  This exploration will move the teachings into body knowing.  Accessing our body knowing leads us to felt wisdom.

In the last month, we have learned about the Elements, Seasons and the Directions and their “Give-away”.  Take some time to explore these interconnections:

How is the south, the color of red, the season of spring, the element of water, and trust and innocence inter-related?

For the west: Explore the inter-connections of black, winter, the earth, and intuition and introspection.

For the north: white, autumn, air or wind, and wisdom and logic.

For the east: yellow, summer, fire, illumination and enlightenment.

Please feel free to share what you came up with so we may all learn from each other and deepen our own perspectives.

Four Elements ~ Earth

The Four Elements are the building blocks of all Creation on Grandmother Earth, and therefore, stabilize our world.

Screen Shot 2016-09-02 at 4.01.19 PMEarth is the element that sits in the west.  Earth energies work with stability and endurance. Think of the many different ways that the earth element appears on this planet: the small portions of earth used in your planter, or the tremendous amounts of earth moved to prepare the foundation for a building, or a tall rugged mountain. Feel the stability that comes when you think of the earth element.

Earth is reflected inside us through our physical bodies.  Is your measure of self-care high enough to create the stability and endurance of your physical body that you desire?

Contemplate the many forms in which you experience this element on the planet and you will have a knowing of West energies.

To begin to discover the interconnections of wheels and directions, overlay the wheel of elements with the seasons or the corresponding colors that vibrate with these directions.  The directional colors are as follows: the South is known by the color red, the West by the color black, the North by the color white, the East by the color yellow, and the Center by the color purple.

Wheels, Different Perceptions and Interconnections

Screen Shot 2016-09-01 at 7.29.32 PMImagine a place in your life where you sat at a large table with lots of other people.  It may be the family dinner table or maybe the conference room table at work.  Most of us will choose a position at the table where we feel comfortable, a place where we return to each and every time we sit at this table.  Silly as it is, we sometimes become territorial and protective because it is “our” seat.  Have you experienced a time where someone else sat in “your” place and you had to sit somewhere else?  Were you surprised at how different the table, those who sat around you, or even the room looked?  Did this new perspective change your inner perception?  Learning the medicine teachings from wheels assist us in changing “our seat,” our perspective, our way of thinking, and opens up different points of view.

Wheels or circles have been used since the ancient times as tools for teaching the ways of the Universe. Nothing is seen as linear for the idea of a linear existence is considered to be an illusion. There is no “beginning” or “end.” There is simply a change of reference points. Birth into physical existence is not the beginning of life (for spirit is eternally alive), but it is a different perception point through which spirit experiences its aliveness. It is simply movement in the wheel of life.

Learning of the Universe through wheels offers a way to perceive how one form of life is completely interconnected with all other life: flowing, changing and reaching out to touch all forms of all things with beauty. All the wheels of the Sweet Medicine SunDance Path spin and interconnect with one another in this way.
