Four Changing Times of Humans

universe_1280In the last post, we looked at the changing times of Grandmother Earth.  We as humans have four times of change as well. However, they are a little different. You will notice that midday and midnight is where we have switched the East and West with Grandmother Earth’s movement. Due to society’s scheduling, most humans lose alignment with their inner change time. At midday, we need to go inward and rest our body lodge, here most people are working. At midnight during our fire time most people are sleeping. The strongest time for humans to do ceremony is between midnight and sunrise! It is naturally their active fire time.

For Humans
South: Sunrise
This is also our exhalation, our breathing out time.
It is when we most connect with our own inner water element, our fluidity of self and emotion. Coming from our fire time, we use the inner waters to cool the fire.

West: Midday
Here we as humans are in the burning heat and fire on Grandmother Earth.
We must put our earth body lodge to rest. Many cultures, in Mexico, Europe and elsewhere, align with this energy shift by closing their shops and other business activities between 12:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. and enjoy leisure and siesta or rest period.

North: Sunset
Here the mind gets calm.
This is a magick time where we have more of our inner gifts available to us.
This is especially true if we are in alignment with Grandmother’s cycle.
Usually at this time we are rushing home from work or fixing dinner, not aligning with calm energy.

East: Midnight
When much of Grandmother Earth is introspective and calm, it is our time to embrace the fire element within. This is when our active energy is the highest, for our inner fire is going full blast.

It is a good time to do sorcery and magick, a time to source the force of creation, and learn controlled dreaming.
Those who work a night shift have tapped into this energy. However, due to work scheduling, most people are asleep at this time. They make this their quiet time when in fact it is potentially their most powerfully creative time. This puts people out of alignment.

To embody this teaching, first sit with Grandmother Earth at each of her four changing times. Experience the four different movements from this new knowing. Use all your senses to taste, touch, smell, hear and see how she changes. Next observe your own four changes in the same way. Find the places in your life where you can have greater alignment with your changes as a human and with the changes of Grandmother Earth.

As we begin to learn more about the many elements of nature and different aspects of ourselves, we have an opportunity to deepen our alignment with Grandmother Earth.

The Hoops of Evolution – part 3

“The world is in a constant conspiracy against the brave. It’s the age-old struggle: the roar of the crowd on the one side, and the voice of your conscience on the other.”  General Douglas MacArthur

In Native traditions, Hoop Dancers move to a drum beat, while keeping several hoops in motion all over their body – all at the same time. It’s an amazing sight: even though the hoops look separate, the dancer is connected to each one. As his heartbeat synchronizes with the drum, he picks up one hoop at a time. Each hoop he adds demands more focus, more awareness, and more skill. The hoops have to become a part of him, individually and collectively. If he loses control of one, the dance can probably continue. But if he loses more than one, the dance stops.

The Four Sacred Hoops are a lot like the Hoop Dance: as long as they are whole, we can keep evolving and growing as a species.

Many Mystery Schools (if not all!) speak about the importance of collective evolution – that humans, as individuals and groups, are meant to evolve and grow. This path uses the term “Sacred Hoops” to refer to this process of evolutionary excellence. These hoops bind us together and make it possible for us to grow – individually and collectively, like the hoops in a Hoop Dance – and are the key to peace and freedom for everyone.

The Sacred Hoops also talk about how we are programmed to respond to Life and each other, and so teach us about where in life we “jump through hoops to learn about ourselves and how we relate to Creation.

Because of this, these Hoops contain everything that humanity is, has been, and will be in its evolution, and thus they affect our genetic encoding (the triple helix of our DNA, RNA and ETA – our Evolutionary Transformative Agent, which we’ll get into in later teachings), that which makes us human and, at the same time, unique as individuals. Science has recently shown this to be true: our genetic encoding is altered and affected not only by our environment, but by our choices within that environment as well.

The Sacred Hoops represent the future of our species.

Tune in next week to learn more about the Hoops and what happens when we walk within them.

Hoops of Evolution – part 2

If you’ve seen thousands of people lumbering along with their faces buried in their phones, or walked through your neighborhood at night to see every window lit up by a blue glow, then you know there is a certain comfort in being a part of the Walking Dead.

But it’s not who we’re meant to be. There is inside every one of us an Eagle…a unique, creative, autonomous individual that is meant to fly free. We are meant to be alive, to experience Health, Hope, Happiness, Harmony and Humor in full measure – but we fear what that kind of life demands of us.

There is nothing to fear. Throughout human history – and even before – there have been streams of knowledge that exist to help us regain our connection to what is Sacred. These teachings are one of those streams.

There is more to being human than Netflix and Facebook. More than putting up with a soul-sucking job. More than being a good worker, parent, consumer, and whoever else you were told to be. When you were born, you came here with a purpose, a Sacred Dream, something only you could do.

The question is: will you do it? Will you stand up and take your rightful place on this planet?

Walk with us a while and journey into your own Spirit…and see who you were meant to be.

“Have you ever had a dream, Neo, that you were so sure was real? What if you were unable to wake from that dream? How would you know the difference between the dream world and the real world?” – Morpheus, The Matrix, 1999

There’s lots more to come on the teachings of the Sacred Hoops…if you don’t want to wait to learn more, feel free to check out the Course of Study, where they were originally published.

The Dance of the Twenty Count: 15 Souls of All Humans

The Children’s Twenty Count describes our world as we live in it, and the powers that influence us here in our attempt to establish interconnection, interreliability and interdependence with all things.

Thus far we have presented in each blog post, the numbers 1- 10, representing the powers that are the “so below“…the numbers that are related to this 3rd dimensional reality and “all that is green“…

As we discuss the upper numbers (11-20), we begin with the powers that are the “as above“…the numbers that are related to beyond this 3rd dimensional reality and “all that is blue“…

15 = Souls of All Humans

15 is the souls of all humans and is all matter. It is our collective soul, the universal mind, collective unconscious into universal consciousness. In other words, it is our own individual consciousness and unconsciousness becoming the collective consciousness, moving into the state of universal consciousness.

Everything that  exists knows of its alignment and interconnection to the everything EXCEPT humans. We have been taught in the Sweet Medicine SunDance Path that we are here to learn our connection to the Wheel of Life. The Taoist speak of it this way: they say when a blade of grass is cut, the entire universe shudders… that is how connected we are within the souls of all humans and all matter. All matter is us. Everything that exists is a part of us. Hence, 15 is the key to knowing our own true nature spirit personality.

According to our Elders, we humans are a thought of the Great Spirit in its attempt to see itself in all of its many reflections. Our Elders say that the moment a human is willing to look through its brothers and sisters, the Great Spirit will see the universe and will know itself.

5 = Sacred Humans

A Sacred Human is a person who has gained enough orende (energy) to step out of their single event and personality focus and into the open heart-to-heart communication which brings about healing. They are humans who know they are also the third born children of Grandmother Earth, who are determiners of energy on the planet and meant to walk with all things, not in domination over them. They teach us open-hearted, one-hearted communication and the qualities of humanness which are: health, hope, happiness, harmony and humor.

To be a sacred human, one must have a minimum orende (energy level) of 5, which is the quality of being a sacred human. It is what is necessary to be a part of the solution on the planet, not the problem.

The Elders say that not all humans on the planet today have reached this level, and that most people are somewhere between 3.1 and 3.4 orende. Yet, we have all have the potential to raise our level of orende to 5 and beyond. How would our world be different if all humans could approach life and others with open heart-to-heart-communication? We’ll leave it to you to imagine!

Rainbow Humans & The Five Huaquas for Life

Of the Human World, the Rainbow Humans teach us the ways of the Five Huaquas: health happiness, humor, hope and harmony.

These are the gifts of being truly human. In order for us as humans to achieve these qualities of humanity, we must:

Give with tenderness

(having as our intent to gather together in our heart space)

Hold & Transform with Intimacy

(by caring for one another in our physical bodies)

Receive with Caring

(by teaching one another within respect and honor that everything is born of the feminine and do nothing to harm the children)

Determine with Passion & Lust

(by sharing with one another our fire, our inspiration)

Catalyze with Open Heart-to-heart Communication

(by experiencing intimacy with one another)

The Four Worlds of Great Spirit Recap

As humans we tend to think of ourselves as the only habitants of this planet. But in fact we live among four worlds on Grandmother Earth: the Mineral, the Plant, the Animal, and the Human. In the story of creation from the Sweet Medicine SunDance Path, each of these worlds had a way of coming into being and have special gifts they offer us to this day so that we may live in balance as one.

The Worlds of Great Spirit: The Human World

In the story of creation from the Sweet Medicine SunDance Path, the Human World was the fourth and final to be created on what we know as Grandmother Earth.

The Human World are determiners of energy. Among all the creatures, it is only the humans who were created with free will, an agency of choice and self determination. These two features distinguish us from other Worlds.

We determine our own reality and with this comes authority, responsibility and power. It is our choice whether we exercise these in pain and destruction … or in beauty and re-creation.

Mental? Physical? Spiritual? The Human Aspects

Is the spiritual path supported by the Deer Tribe Metis Medicine Society more mental or more physical?

Actually it is both – and more.

The Sweet Medicine Sundance (SMSD) path wheel of human aspects includes our emotional, physical, mental, spiritual, and sexual or soul force aspects.

And of these, which is the most important?  Where should we put our developmental emphasis?

On all five aspects, in balance!

SMSD teachings say the human  body is intended to live 135 years – but we can only do that when we are balanced. By combining and balancing all aspects of human growth and evolution, SMSD and DTMMS promote optimal human health, fitness and happiness.

We provide programs that:

  • increase endurance and promote longevity and heightened awareness
  • empower emotional maturing and balance
  • hone mental capacity and flexibility
  • increase spiritual connection, and knowing of interconnection between all forms of all things
  • develop soul force energy and awareness of the sacredness of sexuality

In addition, DTMMS and SMSD encourages all seekers and students to broaden their studies and knowing into multiple disciplines, to provide perspective and true knowing.  Challenge your self, your path, your teachers, your beliefs!
