Earth Astrology

We have just entered the month of the Snake according to Sun Bear’s Earth Astrology (or the sun sign of Scorpio).  Every month or sun sign has a corresponding Earth Astrology sign.  According to the teachings in the Sweet Medicine SunDance Path, each of the animal totems have their own give-away, particular gift or teaching, which is called its medicine. Each of the animal totems below are called birth totem animals and they are a master of the direction they sit in on the wheel.

The Spirit of the Animals is our communicator with our Higher Self.  Getting to know and calling on your animal totem will help you reach for your potential and assist you in actualizing what you have come into this body to accomplish.

Snake: October 24 – November 21 (Scorpio) sits in the West

Within Sun Bear’s system, each birth sitting place also includes a wheel of seven other animal totems that guide and inform each person’s way of being in the world.  We will discuss your wheel of animals, the energy of their sitting place on your wheel and the medicine of the animal itself over the next week or so.  Make sure you don’t miss these upcoming posts!

Visionary Dream

crystal ball

In the Northeast is the Visionary Dream. It is the chaos place of dreaming. In these dreams you, as your Higher Self, are working with the teachers of the Light in order to receive the “visions” you need to further your understanding of self and life and how to design your energies properly to actualize your Sacred Dream. This dream usually occurs when you are awake, and it transcends time and space. It gives you a glimpse of the future through opening portals, which show you how the future has the potential of occurring, and gateways, which show you the way it already is. As with the Prophetic Dream, you will not know for sure it your dream was a Visionary Dream until it manifests in the tonal.

Twenty Count Tuesday – Sacred Hokkshideh-hey, Hokkshideh, Higher Self

The nineteenth Power includes the Great Hokkshideh-heys, all balanced and harmonious souls, cosmic teachers, and our Hokkshideh, our own Higher Self.  The Hokkshideh-hey are also the great Buddha, universal teachers, and the Bodhisattvas.  This power also includes the Breath of Life; our perfectly balanced male and female energy; and the triangle of Soul, our inner atom of genetic encoding (DNA, RNA, ETA).

In the Cosmic Orchestra, the Hokkshideh-hey and Hokkshideh sing the Cosmic Chant, the Chant of Total Balance and Harmony of All Things within the Everything. As they sing, they point to the Northeast where you see a Light that Speaks with the voice of Thunder.

Twenty Count Tuesday – Sacred Movement or Design of Choreography

We are playing and dancing almost in perfect harmony, but we are a bit off in our rhythm. We know this because we hear the Sound and feel the Percussion. We turn to look at this great Power. We see that it is Pure Energy that is bringing this Song. It is Movement itself. It is the ninth Power that is dancing and flowing with the rhythm of all the other sounds. Catching it, tuning to it, is aligning to the Great Choreography. We see and know that this is Movement.  Change happens here. We begin to perceive that maybe the Song is written here, designed from this place. This Song sings to us from the Northeast section of the Great Orchestra.

Animal Medicine Monday – Thunderbird

The bringer of thunder, lightning and rain; awakener of the voice of our Hokkshideh (our Higher Self); keeper of memory. The thunderbird is the over-soul of all winged ones and thus is able to communicate with all the winged ones. It teaches mastery of elemental alchemy. The thunderbird is the mythological equivalent to the phoenix, the dragon, the peyote waterbird and is a cousin to the roadrunner.
