The Dance of the Twenty Count: 11 – 20 As Above Recap

Did you miss any?

The Children’s Twenty Count is a way of perceiving the special qualities and “give away” of the sacred powers of the universe and relating them to the numbers 1-20. This provides a valuable mathematical system the describes the interrelationships of the powers to one another and forms the basic framework for all of the Sweet Medicine SunDance teachings.

The Children’s Twenty Count describes our world as we live in it, and the powers that influence us here in our attempt to establish interconnection, interreliability and interdependence with all things.

In our past posts, we’ve taken you through each of the powers to introduce you to qualities, vibrations, and give aways of the numbers 1- 10, representing the powers that are the “so below“…the numbers that are related to this 3rd dimensional reality and “all that is green“…

Then, we took you through the upper numbers (11-20), presenting the powers that are the “as above“…the numbers that are related to beyondthis 3rd dimensional reality and “all that is blue“…

The Worlds of the Great Spirit: The Beginning

Every culture, every people since always have had myths, stories and legends of how life began. In the tradition of the Twisted Hairs and the Sweet Medicine SunDance Path, it is written that in the beginning since always, the Everything was created from within the void in which there was present a pure energy force called Chuluaqui (Chu-la-quay). It expresses itself as pure orgastic, harmonic and balancing vibration. Chuluaqui is, in essence, the spark of life that allows all things within Everything to take on their particular substance form.

Having seen and experienced the duality of itself, WahKahn (Great Grandmother Universe) and SsKwan (Great Grandfather Galaxy) came together through the sacred elements and female/male balance in total union of their emotional, mental, physical and sexual energies with the power of the Chuluaqui within each of them. This complete sexual union is the “Quodoushka”.

From the new energies which were born in this Quodoushka union, the universe emerged. This energy continued to give form and substance from fire and spirit until all things within the Everything were born. This included Grandfather Sun and the Mineral World within and throughout Grandmother Earth.

Grandfather Sun and Grandmother Earth, through Quodoushka, then gave birth to the Sacred Plants that emerged from the minerals of the Mineral World, then to the Sacred Animals, and finally to the last born, all Sacred Humans – ourselves.

Each of the Worlds of Grandmother Earth have a gift which they give or teach us. This is their medicine. If we as humans are open to receiving and giving these gifts, we become sacred, balanced humans and our world is indeed in harmony.

The SunDance Story of Creation & How The Elements Came To Be

The South Element: Water

The West Element: Earth

The North Element: Wind

The East Element: Fire

The Center Element: Void

Image

The Center Element: Void

In the Sweet Medicine SunDance Path, the sacred four elements are a part of Grandmother Earth and are a natural component of our world and ourselves. The elements can be regarded from the perspective of a “medicine wheel”. That is to say a circle of viewing of each of the four directions: South, West, North, East and the Center.

When we view the elements from each of these directions, we can better understand through not just our mind but our physical bodies how each of the elements feel and how these elements combine with other energies and powers of the four directions.

void

In the Center, the element is the void (the black hole or womb).

The void works with all of the four elements. In fact it is from the void (the apparent nothing, the source) that all things take on substance within spirit. This is the Chuluaqui Quodoushka energy which was mentioned in the SunDance creation story.

The void works with the energy of open, heart-to-heart communication. It is the catalyst energy that makes and keeps the other elements in a state of balance or imbalance depending on how it is used.

The East Element: Fire

In the Sweet Medicine SunDance Path, the sacred four elements are a part of Grandmother Earth and are a natural component of our world and ourselves. The elements can be regarded from the perspective of a “medicine wheel”. That is to say a circle of viewing of each of the four directions: South, West, North, East and the Center.

In the East, the element is fire.

Fire teaches us expansion. It could be a small candlelight, a raging forest fire, the campfire which warms you on a cold night.

Think about the many ways you have experienced fire, and you will have a knowing of the East energies.

In the North, the element is wind (air).

The wind works with flexibility. Think about the ways you know the wind … the whirling tornados, a summer gentle breeze, the wind caresses from the ocean, to the wind that comes up just before a storm hits.

Think of the many different ways you have experienced the wind, and you will have a knowing of the North energies.

In the West, the element is earth.

Earth energies work with stability and endurance. Think of the many different ways that the earth element appears on this planet: the small portions of earth used in a planter, the tremendous amounts of earth moved to prepare the foundation for a building,  tall rugged mountains, or the earth that fills a forest.

Feel the stability in your body that comes when you contemplate the earth elements in all its forms, and you will have a knowing of West energies.

In the South, the element is water.

Think of the many different ways that water appears on this planet. It can be raging rapids or a small quiet brook. It can appear as a stagnant pond or a great ocean.

Contemplate the many forms in which you experience waters and know that this is South energy. All south energies are fluid or have fluidity as part of their nature.

The SunDance Story of Creation

Every culture, every people since always have had passed down knowledge of how life began, which we now perceive as myths, stories and legends. In the way of the Twisted Hairs, it is written in the records of the sacred kiva…

In the beginning, since always, the Everything was created from within the void, in which there was a present a pure energy force called Chuluaqui.

This Chuluaqui energy expresses itself as pure orgastic, harmonic, and balancing vibration. In essence, it is the spark of life that allows all things within the Everything to take on their particular substance form.

As Wakan Tanka (the Great Spirit and also called the Everything) discovered its female being. It breathed and inhaled with implosive force. This creative-receptive force became the egg of all creation known as WahKahn, the universe, our Great Grandmother.

Then, Wakan Tanka exhaled and in so doing discovered its male side, the active conceptive force: SsKwan, the galaxy our sacred Great Grandfather.

Therefore, the first of the four sacred elements was AIR, the breath of Wakan Tanka.

The second element was FIRE, the spirit of the Chuluaqui force of Wakan Tanka.

Then from the space of its female and male side, Wahkahn and SsKwan came together with the energy force of their separate Chuluaqui energies combining in a whirlwind serpent fire of total love, and the third element of WATER was created.

The two Chuluaqui energies became Quodoushka, the sacred marriage and union of the male and female energies, which together became greater than the sum of the parts, and thus became the heart of Wakan Tanka.

Then seeing that the purpose of creation was discovering substance form through the act of orgastic pleasure to gain knowledge of itself, Wakan Tanka (WahKahn and SsKwan) made love and created all things within the Everything.

Thus the fourth element of EARTH became the physical manifestations of the love energy of the Great Spirit.

This is the story of how the Everything was birthed through the elemental connections.
