Reflections: Seasons, Winter

Season-winter

Still
Within
A breath held longer than you’d think

Dreaming that which cannot yet be named
Waiting for a movement not yet begun
Anticipating new life not yet stirring within

Our depth is unfathomable
Our silence impenetrable
Our ways not reproducible

Even before conception, we carry the unspoken until ready for words
Even before birthing, we surrender to the forces much greater than our small voice
Even before dying, we know the time is complete

Still, within the winter, we know without knowing how we know.

Here are some suggested ways help embody the reflection of this season:

  • One day this winter, enter into the still night without turning on any lights
  • Don’t turn on any music; turn off all the phones, radio, TV, etc.
  • Instead, sit quietly and feel the approach of darkness.
  • As night falls, observe its movements and hear its call.
  • Stay totally quiet and utterly still.
  • Notice how the sounds all around you change.
  • Notice how, deep within the silence, life is unfolding without definition or form or name.
  • Know you are holding indescribable potential within.
  • Name three ways in which you can deepen your inner silence and visit your potential.

Dreaming – Magician’s Formula

apple-1594742_1280

In order to truly discuss these teachings on dreaming, we must first talk about power and the magician’s formula: attention = power. What is power really and what does power have to do with dreaming? It takes power in the form of the O’larien (our psychic gifts) to do successful dreaming—in particular the gifts of Telepathy (communication), Ki (expansion of the aura), Seeing, and Dreaming.

John Two Crows, one of SwiftDeer’s clan uncles, asked him “Why are you interested in that particular stone?” SwiftDeer’s answer was “Because I like it.” Two Crows said “That is attraction.  Attraction means you are connected to something. There is a give-away—an equal exchange of energy or value. When something catches your attention, it is said to be an attraction and, therefore, it has power.”

Dreaming – Types of Dreams

book-1014197_1280

We know from other Course of Study Modules that there are four types of dreams:

  1. The personal dream—our day to day tonal (material, substance) existence and survival
  2. The sacred dream—our self-growth and maturity
  3. The collective dream—peace and freedom on Grandmother Earth
  4. The planetary dream—this planet’s next evolutionary step

What we will concern ourselves within this post is the Sacred Dream. The focus of learning to control the dream is held in these two questions: How can we learn to control our waking dream, our dance through everyday life, and our sleeping dream? How can we get the waking dream and the sleeping dream to become the Sacred Dream?

Most people think we only dream when we fall asleep at night and begin rapid eye movement, switching brain waves from Beta to Alpha to Theta. According to the Elders, when we are awake we are also dreaming. For example, while reading this post, you are doing what is called awake dreaming. However, this is the dream that is an illusion, Maya, the world of “realness.” The fifth-dimension dreamtime is truly “reality.”

Dreaming

eagle-2054284_1280

Are you really aware of what you have been dreaming into your reality? Are you happy? Are you aware of what we have been dreaming collectively on this planet? Are we closer to peace and freedom? Do you know that controlling the dream is a way to actualize your Sacred Vision in your life?

As stated in the Gold Horse prophecy, 18,000 light warriors from each of the Eight Great Powers are needed to put the Gold Horse solidly out in front, win the race, and bring in the four colts of Beauty, Power, Knowledge, and Freedom. That is 144,000 totally awake, aware, and alert men and women who are knowledgeable of the reality of the situation on Grandmother Earth and are able to walk their talk and be part of the solution. They must have the courage to defeat “the enemy,” first the inner enemies of fear, anger, guilt, blame, and shame; and then their external manifestations in the form of sickness, disease, pestilence, and the New World Order (in any of its manifestations).

The Sweet Medicine SunDance teachings help prepare you to be able to respond to the Great Mother who is calling in her markers. The alarm clock is going off to awaken the 144,000 Rainbow Warriors. Have you heard her call? Can you awaken and free yourself from the layers of anesthesia and accumulated armoring? We have all collectively and individually created the dark and negative energies that manifest as destruction of the earth. We have the capacity to dream a different dream, which manifests as healing and empowerment.

How have you been dreaming this dance? What is your part to play in making sure you awaken from the nightmare and dream a new dream for Grandmother Earth, one that includes autonomy, individuality, and freedom for all peoples? You are learning about one of the most potent tools available to effect this change in yourself and in the collective: The Art of Controlled Dreaming.

Four Changing Times of Humans

universe_1280In the last post, we looked at the changing times of Grandmother Earth.  We as humans have four times of change as well. However, they are a little different. You will notice that midday and midnight is where we have switched the East and West with Grandmother Earth’s movement. Due to society’s scheduling, most humans lose alignment with their inner change time. At midday, we need to go inward and rest our body lodge, here most people are working. At midnight during our fire time most people are sleeping. The strongest time for humans to do ceremony is between midnight and sunrise! It is naturally their active fire time.

For Humans
South: Sunrise
This is also our exhalation, our breathing out time.
It is when we most connect with our own inner water element, our fluidity of self and emotion. Coming from our fire time, we use the inner waters to cool the fire.

West: Midday
Here we as humans are in the burning heat and fire on Grandmother Earth.
We must put our earth body lodge to rest. Many cultures, in Mexico, Europe and elsewhere, align with this energy shift by closing their shops and other business activities between 12:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. and enjoy leisure and siesta or rest period.

North: Sunset
Here the mind gets calm.
This is a magick time where we have more of our inner gifts available to us.
This is especially true if we are in alignment with Grandmother’s cycle.
Usually at this time we are rushing home from work or fixing dinner, not aligning with calm energy.

East: Midnight
When much of Grandmother Earth is introspective and calm, it is our time to embrace the fire element within. This is when our active energy is the highest, for our inner fire is going full blast.

It is a good time to do sorcery and magick, a time to source the force of creation, and learn controlled dreaming.
Those who work a night shift have tapped into this energy. However, due to work scheduling, most people are asleep at this time. They make this their quiet time when in fact it is potentially their most powerfully creative time. This puts people out of alignment.

To embody this teaching, first sit with Grandmother Earth at each of her four changing times. Experience the four different movements from this new knowing. Use all your senses to taste, touch, smell, hear and see how she changes. Next observe your own four changes in the same way. Find the places in your life where you can have greater alignment with your changes as a human and with the changes of Grandmother Earth.

As we begin to learn more about the many elements of nature and different aspects of ourselves, we have an opportunity to deepen our alignment with Grandmother Earth.

The Dance of the Twenty Count: 17 Dream Teachers

The Children’s Twenty Count describes our world as we live in it, and the powers that influence us here in our attempt to establish interconnection, interreliability and interdependence with all things.

Thus far we have presented in each blog post, the numbers 1- 10, representing the powers that are the “so below“…the numbers that are related to this 3rd dimensional reality and “all that is green“…

As we discuss the upper numbers (11-20), we begin with the powers that are the “as above“…the numbers that are related to beyond this 3rd dimensional reality and “all that is blue“…

17 = Kachina-hey (Dream Teachers)

The Kachina-hey are called dream souls or dream teachers because they work with pure archetypal symbols, sigils and images through the place of the dream in the fifth dimension. They work with us in our sleeping dream and teach us through symbols and sigils about our patterns so that we may understand them better. The Kachinas are teachers of natural laws, science and mathematics. They are great awakeners of memory. In the Christian tradition, they are equivalent to the archangels.

The Kachina-hey also teach us how to go through fear to get to the other side of what that fear is really teaching us. The story goes that as a part of a young boy’s initiation into manhood in old tribal times, his uncles, old brothers and father would dress up as Kachinas and kidnap the young boy, taking him to the woods, surely evoking fear in the young boy along the way.

Once in the woods, they took off their masks, and the young boy could see that it was only his father, brothers and uncles, thereby teaching him that what he thought was something to be afraid of was nothing but his closest relatives. A very good reminder for us all that “we have nothing to fear, but fear itself.”

The Dance of the Twenty Count: 7 Symbols of The Dream

The Children’s Twenty Count describes our world as we live in it, and the powers that influence us here in our attempt to establish interconnection, interreliability and interdependence with all things.

As we begin to discuss the lower numbers, we begin with the powers that are the “so below“…the numbers that are related to this 3rd dimensional reality and “all that is green“…

7 = Symbols of The Dream

The dream is the process of living life itself. It is our day to day living which is experienced through symbol sigil form. It is the experience of what we call spiritual sexual eros which is the desire to live life fully awake, aware and alert in the now. It means to be an autonomous, individually free human being within this lifetime who is fully awake.

is the place of our personal dream, which is how we take care of our personal survival needs, such as food in our bellies, clothes on our body and a roof over our head. Often it also includes our career or job.

It is also the place of our sacred dream. The sacred dream is very simple, but not always easy. It is our continued self growth and development, which will bring about the evolution of our soul to maturity.

7 is also the place of the planetary dream, which is said to be the destiny of Grandmother Earth… it is her next evolutionary jump.

7 is also is the collective dream which is the dream of peace for all humans on Grandmother Earth.

A basic teaching about the seven is that the goal is to have your personal, sacred and collective dream in alignment with one another, so that the personal dream feeds the sacred dream, and the sacred dream feeds the collective dream. As a result, the collective dream comes around full circle and feeds your personal dream.

Sometimes when people first begin spiritual self growth, they focus so much on the sacred dream that their personal dream suffers. To ensure success, you must make sure your everyday world  (the tonal) is taken care of and provides a stable foundation for your spiritual self growth and development.

Little by little you can move the energy of the personal dream into alignment with the sacred and collective dreams with a strong foundation.

Then, the each of the dreams will all be in alignment and feed one another.

Are You Dreaming a Dream of Excellence? – The South

Are You Dreaming a Dream of Excellence? – The South

Your life is a dream, a movie you dreamed up. What kind of movie and character in that life movie have you dreamed? What kind of dreamer are you? Which one are you most of the time?

This is part 1 of a series and the first movement around the medicine wheel written by our late Nagual Elder, Thunder Strikes with Jan Orsi.

In the south, we begin!

South: Asleep Dreamer

These “dreamers” lose their focus and are in reaction to those they give their power away to. They are asleep, unaware, at the effect, attached and dependent. They watch and wait for life to happen to them and are afraid to get involved in life. They don’t feel they have any control of their lives and are stuck in mediocrity and inaction. They don’t even have dreams because they are resigned to their “lot in life”. They exist and are in survival mode most of the time.

Their low level of self-worth mires them in emotionality and emotional imbalance. Focused on the past, they get lost in their mythology and childhood stories about themselves. For those who understand SMSD teachings on blocks, the block in the south is guilt.

Reflect on your life. Are you an asleep dreamer most of the time, some of the time or none of the time?

Opening the Gates to the Human World, Part 4

Opening the gates to the human worldNote: December 21, 2012 was the final day in one of the Long Counts in the Mayan Calendar.  There were rumors that the end of that long count would also be the “end of the world”.  Within the Sweet Medicine SunDance Path, this date represents the opportunity to enter a new world: the human world.  This is the fourth in a series, written by Janneke Koole, on the opening of the gates to the human world. In Part 4, we look at the Southwest and Northwest directions related to this prophecy.

SOUTHWEST – THE BLUE HORSE

This is the place of the dream, space and distance, and our process of experience. It is where we come to heal and restore ourselves back to the before. What we dream, becomes our future. For those who know how, dreaming extends all the way out into life on other planets. When a people no longer dream, they lose their will and so can be controlled to do the will of another.

The appalling levels of mediocrity and complacency in our society is fodder for the dark horse. It breeds despair and hopelessness and this leaves the door wide open for being gullible to false hopes. When the people surrender their freedom, the government takes over and begins to interfere inside even the most private and sacred spaces.

What can we do to make a difference? Stay awake, aware, and alert – even in your sleeping dream-time. Speak for the sanctity of home, hearth and heart. Promote the rights of the people to pursue their dream. Educate those in your circle of influence to pay attention to the decisions being made in your local community. And be willing to heal one another – fight for those alternative treatments that have the ability to cure without abandoning the gifts and technology of the traditional medical professionals. Explore Life in all aspects!

NORTHWEST – THE GREY HORSE

This is the place of rules and laws and so the home of government and politics. Perhaps one of the most striking contrasts are held in this direction. Consider Sacred Law, the honoring of the Children’s Fire, and the Cycles of Law as they are protected within the time-honored structures of the Council and Circle of Law. Now consider our corruption of our governmental process and the control by the wealthy and elite few bent on the creation of a new world order (not in the light). Consider also how principles, values, morals and ethics have drifted away from Sacred Law. And, before we dip into despair, consider also the quickly expanding numbers of people who have validated that their karma book is closed and their dharma book is open.

What can we do to make a difference? Study, participate, and implement the Council of Law, beginning in the lowest levels of local government. Practice neutral perception and clear communication. Create a productive, procreative lifestyle in dharma. Study Sacred Law – probe, examine, question boldly until you can discern what is sacred and how you can make a difference to promote the Light.
