How the Worlds Teach Humans to be Balanced

balance rocks near stream

Last week, we learned that we possess a direct connection to the other four worlds of Grandmother Earth.  We contain minerals in our body; we are animal in that we are two-leggeds; we are the water and nutrients of the plant carried in our blood; and we come from pure spirit at birth and return to pure spirit at death.

Each world teaches us how to be balanced humans, or how to balance our choreography, which consists of all the choices, decisions, and priorities we make and create in our life.  The mineral world teaches us how to hold and transform; the plant world exemplifies how to give; how to receive is knowledge from the animal world; the human world, in alignment with Great Spirit, are the determiners of Grandmother; and the Spirit World shows us how to catalyze our life.

These five actions also correspond to an aspect within us.  The mineral world and its ability to hold and transform corresponds to our physical body; the plant world to our emotions; the animal world to our mental aspect; human world to our spirit; and the spirit world to our sexual aspect.

Over the next few weeks, we will explore each of these five worlds and human aspects to explore how the Worlds of Grandmother earth teach us, if we are open to it.

The Horse Race for Humanity

horse-race

Is the tale of the Horse Race just another forecast of doom and gloom?  What does it all have to do with us, really?  With evolutionary cycles quickening and energies polarizing, we are at a crossroads of choice – light vs. dark, good vs. evil, wealth vs. poverty, freedom vs. tyranny, joy and fulfillment vs. depression and despair, vibrant health and emotional balance vs. stress and sickness.  Evolution and change are catapulting us at warp speed into new paradigms, calling us to stand accountable for who and what we are in the world.

We yearn for the light, constantly looking for ways to make our dreams of harmony, balance, and beauty a reality.  We are inspired by our vision of a fuller life. Unfortunately, many of us are overcome by the enormity of the task and throw up our hands in frustration.  Many of us just sit on the fence, waiting to see what will happen or waiting for someone else to do it for us.

Life develops what it demands, and life is demanding that we go beyond our self-focus to soul consciousness, to step into action as warriors in every aspect of our lives to serve humanity and the planet.  If we do not choose to get off the fence on our own, events will knock us off.

What will it take?  Step out of the weaknesses of complacency, naivete, and the lack of reality awareness.  Break away from the prisoner bonds of convenience and comfort that come at a tremendous cost to our planet and quality of life.  Quit being satisfied with information and entertainment.

Seek wisdom and knowledge that only come from direct experience, testing, challenge, and mastery.  Practice your faith and prayers, for they are the intrinsic expressions of yearning for connection and alignment with spirit and the light within us.  Live our lives, moment to moment, fostering love and harmony, focusing on the light and all that is good.

Adopt a warrior’s stance against the dark.  Only then can we face the enemy – both the enemy within as well as the enemy outside ourselves.  Nothing in life overcomes what it runs away from.

Collective Dream of Grandmother Earth

earth-earth-at-night-night-lights-41949

In the Center of the Dream Type wheel is the Collective Dream of Grandmother Earth. It is the memory of dreaming. This is the dream of all humans walking as balanced fives—that is, in total alignment, balance, and harmony with the Self, the five Worlds of Grandmother Earth and the 20 Powers.

7 Arrows – Rainbow Arrow of Gaining Wisdom, Alignment, Balance & Harmonic Resonance

zen-2040340_1280

If you remember, the 4th dark arrow is Comparisons, the place where our group identity becomes our support system that verifies and validates our judgments and separation.  It feels like we  judge and separate from “them”, those who do not believe in the same way, or have the same values, and are not like us.  But truly, this dark arrow is picked up because we judge and separate from our self, then others and life.

When we pick up the 4th light arrow, we say YES to loving our self for the sheer pleasure of doing so.  Our hearts open and we connect to self, life, others, and Spirit.  The gift from the Universe is the 4th Rainbow Arrow where we gain wisdom, alignment, balance and harmonic resonance through the alignment with all forms of all things.  Logic, knowledge and wisdom can only be received by a flexible, open free-thinking mind whose intent is to be in balance and harmony with all the Worlds of Grandmother Earth.

7 Arrows – Rainbow Arrows

Life is a CHOICE.  Choosing the Light Arrows breaks the Dark Arrows.  Persist in this practice and one day you will discover that the Universe has placed the Rainbow Arrows in your quiver in the place of the Dark Arrows as a gift from the Universe.  A perfect balance of the female and male energies in the light brings to us the Rainbow Arrows of illumination and enlightenment; introspection and intuition; trust, innocence and perfection; balanced alignment with wisdom; open heart to heart communication; impeccability as one’s self-worth and the actualization of our Sacred Dream.

Red Lodge Longhouse

eagle_1280

You may have heard about the Arizona Red Lodge Longhouse, but wondered what is that?!?

Just by hearing the name, you certainly would not know what this Longhouse is all about.  One of the challenges with describing this yearlong program is that in modern day syntax, there is indeed NOTHING like it.  An elevator, quick hit description doesn’t do this program justice either.

Historically, a longhouse was held during the winter months when everything slowed down and the entire community would come together to share, study and expand through sacred knowledge.  In today’s world, we don’t have the winter months to shut down our life and luxuriate in this approach to learning and seeking.

Our Red Lodge Longhouse seeks to keep the traditional ways of gathering  like-minded folks, but tailors the timing of these gatherings to today’s pace.  That being said, we gather 7 times over the course of a year, 6 weekends at our center and 1 week of ceremony out in nature.

Why would I want to invest this kind of time to this program?  What do we do over this course of a year?  At this time of fast paced life, seemingly unlimited technology, and so many options of things to do, we offer a time-tested approach to reconnecting to all of life, gaining tools to help us sort out our past issues, and determine our way to the life we choose now to have.

Join others that desire to create their life with a balanced approach, focusing on spiritual connection, personal growth and abundance.  You will gain tools for change, new friends, and an understanding of natural worlds.

As it seems easier to disconnect, this longhouse is all about connection.

Connect to your potential.  Join us!

Warrior Wednesday – Balance and Control

waterfall_1280

In each direction of the Warrior Attributes wheel, there are two attributes.  The first attribute carries the feminine energy and the second carries the masculine energy.  In each pair, you must have the feminine aspect mastered before you can step into and embody the masculine aspect.

Starting in the South of the Wheel, the Warrior’s Attributes are balance and control.  Emotional balance goes back to the Balanced Choreography of giving with the emotions. You are in emotional balance when you are expressing your emotions clearly, like the free-running waters of a brook. If you hold or dam up your emotions, they throw you out of balance. To have emotional control means we are able to direct the emotions as we choose. If we don’t have balanced emotions, we will not have control and will react instead of being able to direct them as we choose. When we have emotional balance and control, we have an ease in breathing.

Freedom Streams of the 0-9 Law

staircase_1280

All energy moves in a cyclical sequence from 0-9 and thus ten Steps. These Steps provide the stasis or balance to all movement and process. It is the key to the structure of the universe and to how this universe defines itself.

Within the process of our life experience we go through Seven Steps at each movement. The eighth step establishes the new pattern, the ninth step moves it and then the tenth step signals a completion of one cycle and the beginning of the next stream of life.

These Steps match the Seven Dimensions of this universe through which light becomes life and gives life. The Seven Steps describe how energy moves through life in a constant and continuous cycle. The Seven Dimensions refer to the seven levels of existence and the potential levels of awareness of that existence.

Join us tomorrow for a description of the 10 steps!

Children of Grandmother Earth, The Human World

circle_1280Each of the worlds have a wheel of their own.  Each of the directions dance with the Human World in different ways.

In the South are the red humans.  These are the peoples who are most closely aligned with the heart, the fluidity of emotions. They teach us the way of one-heartedness, having a heart connection to all forms of Life in a beauty way. It is to these sisters and brothers that we owe these Sweet Medicine SunDance teachings.

In the West are the black humans. These brothers and sisters teach us about physical mastery and power, the body’s agility, rhythm, strength, and endurance.

In the North are the white humans, the people of the mind, of modern technology who have greatly advanced the evolution of civilization. However, they have significantly forgotten to do so in balance and harmony.

In the East are the yellow humans. These sisters and brothers teach us about the spirit.

In the Center are the Métis rainbow humans. These are all those who realize that no matter what color the skin, no matter what race or cultural heritage, we all have red blood, black pupils in our eyes, white bones, and yellow marrow in our bones. They teach us the ways of the Five Huaquas: health, happiness, humor, hope, and harmony. These are the gifts of being truly human. In order for us as humans to achieve these qualities of human-ness

We must:

  • GIVE WITH TENDERNESS – having as our intent to gather together in our heart space
  • HOLD & TRANSFORM WITH INTIMACY – by caring for one another in our physical bodies
  • RECEIVE WITH CARING – by teaching one another within respect and honor
  • DETERMINE WITH PASSION AND LUST – by sharing with one another our fire, our inspiration
  • CATALYZE WITH OPEN HEART-TO-HEART COMMUNICATION – by being intimate with one another

Remember we said wherever you have four, you also have five. So with the four Worlds is the fifth World: In the center of all Worlds is the World of Spirit, the catalyzer of all energy.

All forms of life have “spirit” (manitou): they have life force energy, which we call the catalyst, pulsing through their form.

Children of Grandmother Earth, The Animal World

Each of the worlds have a wheel of their own.  Each of the directions dance with the Animal World in different ways.

In our tradition, animals are known as “Sweet Medicine.” Each animal through its habits and ways carries within its being-ness a “medicine.” It is a gift of healing they bring to us if we align with them. Mostly they teach us to be who we are. You don’t see a dog wanting to act like a frog. It is content in its dog-ness. These animals are great teachers and allies.

salmon_1280

In the South are the swimmers of all sizes and shapes.  They are receiver-givers. The fluidity of water has to do with our emotions. Look at the dolphin: it is a receiver by nature, but if a human is in trouble, it will give help to the human.

lizard_1280In the West are the crawlers, those who creep with their belly on the earth. The earthworms, lizards, and snakes are receiver-holders. They know the earth intimately, so from them we can learn how to be in a more harmonious relationship with her. The earth worm eats compost and changes it into soil, therefore helping the soil to hold its integrity.

cougar_1280

In the North are the four-leggeds, the receiver-receivers, those who run with the wind and teach us balance. Some of these animals have been willing to “receive” humans onto their backs and make our transportation easier.

sandhill-cranes_1280

In the East are the winged ones, the receiver-determiners. These beings relate to our spirit (fire). The eagle is known as the “Messenger of the Great Spirit,” carrying our prayers to spirit and bringing messages back to us.

In the Center are the mythical animals, the receiver-transformers and catalyzers. Mythical animals have a way of stretching our imagination and teaching us in the dreamtime.  They carry truth through the myth and legends of all cultures. Also here are the two-leggeds who are not yet sacred humans. The Sweet Medicine SunDance Way speaks of unbalanced humans as “two leggeds.” They are human in form but lack the consciousness and right behaviors of what it is to be truly human. When humans become balanced, they move to their own place on the Human Wheel.
