There are many ways to study the Sweet Medicine SunDance teachings. Some people read one of our publications, other attend one of our many study groups, seminars and workshops (such as Red Lodge, spiritual sexuality, physical mastery and more). For a smaller number, this body of teachings is home, our path with heart; these are the Sweet Medicine SunDance apprentices.
Sweet Medicine SunDance apprentices are a diverse group!
- We span 17 countries on 4 continents (North America, Europe, Australia, and South America).
- Canadian apprentices can be found in more than 60 cities spanning 4 provinces.
- And apprentices live in nearly 200 cities found in 24 states in the USA.
Across the globe, dedicated individuals bring these teachings into their lives, learning how to love, teach, share and care in greater beauty and balance. Such bounty!
DeerTracks is the DTMMS newsletter, dedicated to personal excellence, spiritual awakening, and alignment with nature. The theme for this June issue is ABUNDANCE: How do you create abundance in your life? How do you define “abundance” for yourself- what ingredients constitute abundance for you? Money? Health? Family? Creative work? Service? Nature?
Articles in DeerTracks bridge ancient wisdom and modern society, provide personal stories from people who study and teach the Sweet Medicine SunDance Path all over the world, and highlight the ways that individuals apply their genius, artistic originality, talents, and skills to make a difference in their profession and in their community. Each issue also provides information about events from across the globe, including Italy, Australia, Germany, Sweden, Switzerland, England, Canada, the United States and more.
Submissions will be accepted through May 12. Submission guidelines were recently sent to all apprentices on the DTMMS mailing list.
Articles from previous issues of DeerTracks can be found in the DTMMS reading room.

The Red Lodge Longhouse Program is the basic training program of the Sweet Medicine SunDance Path:
The “Gateway” process is the underlying structure of self-development within all of the Eight Great Powers. Red Lodge is a structured educational program that takes students through the first three gateways of the Sweet Medicine SunDance (SMSD) Path. These gateways are designed to teach us how to do the three G’s: “Grow up, Get over it, and Get on with life.” Our path is the path of a warrior – it will challenge all of your pre-conceived notions of who you are. We are not another religion, belief system or weird cult that claims to do it for you. We want you to become an inquisitive free-thinking autonomous individual who takes responsibility for your life and lives it to the fullest. We will empower you and provide a safe journey within a circle of friends who share a desire to make a difference, to take their power and grow up into their highest potential. It is a great journey – but you must do the walking. You must have the willingness to change and make the leap into the next level of human evolution.
